Last night saw the last last league game of the season with a closely battled draw against Llanboidy B in Llanpumsaint.
The singles got off to a good start winning 16 - 3. The pairs in the other hand came back to lose by only one shot against Llanboidy B with the final score being 7 - 6 to Llanboidy B.
The triples and fours had 8 - 8 and 6 - 6 draws respectively, however the triples result had big consequences for Llanboidy B. Going into the final end Llanboidy were leading by 8 shots to 5. Llanpimsaint were holding 3 to make it 8 - 8 and Llanboidy B needed to win the game to stay up, a draw was not enough. The skip for Llanboidy B on the last bowl on the last end of the last game of the season hit the centre block and meant that despite a good fight, Llanboidy B were relegated. We hope to see them promoted next year to fight again in the 2020/2021 season.
We still have two of our club competitions to go as well as our finals night and the Roy Bowen cup to be played after Easter.
This weekend Rhys and Catrin Williams will be playing for the first time for the Wales Under 21 team against England Under 21 in Tamworth. We'll keep up updated next week with photos and news of how they got on. GOOD LUCK BOTH!!!
